Act F.A.S.T.

ACT F.A.S.T. if you suspect a stroke:

Stroke is a scary word. In the event of a stroke, it is imperative that it be identified quickly.

If given within three hours of the first symptom, there is an FDA-approved clot-buster medication that may reduce long-term disability for the most common type of stroke.

Young or old"er" no one is immune to knowing someone who has had a stroke or being a candidate themselves.
If you are a care giver as many "baby boomers" are, you need to be on the alert daily to look for signs that your loved ones health has changed in some way.
Acting F.A.S.T. is  key and may reduce long term disability!

Stroke.org has some easy to remember information:

If you suspect stroke, it's important to act F.A.S.T.

F - FACE ask the person to smile - does one side of the face droop?

A- ARMS - ask them to raise both arms, does one drift downward?

S- SPEECH - Ask them to repeat a simple phrase, is speech slurred

T- TIME- if you observe ANY of these signs call 911 immediately.
